Hello! Welcome to my website! My name is Kadi Smith and I have owned and operated Kadi Kakes since 2016. However, I have been baking and decorating cakes for a lot longer than that! About 3-4 years prior to opening my home-based bakery, I worked at a local grocery store, in the deli/bakery department. There I learned the basics to cake decorating. I absolutely fell in love with creating art through cakes! I started small, making cakes for my family and friends, slowly creating cakes that were more challenging, but so rewarding! My family always had my back, and pushed me to get my name out there, but i always found a way to put off showing my work to the world. After i left the grocery store that gave me my start, i bounced to another job, which gave me a taste of working from home. I was able to create more often and expand my skills even more. One day i found myself without that job, suddenly. I wasn't quite sure what i was going to do. I loved working from home so much, and all the extra time i had to bake. That's when my wonderful husband took the leap of faith, and said, it was time to publish my business Facebook page. I didn't think twice. That day, i published my page and by the end of the week, i had 300 likes. So.... there it is. How Kadi Kakes became a business. I am still growing and learning daily. I am in awe everyday at how God has blessed me and this business. I look forward as to what God has in store, and all the beautiful cakes i get to create in the future! I hope that when you find yourself not knowing what direction to go, you listen to your heart (or your husband, in my case) and take that leap of faith. God’s plan is bigger than anything you can imagine, if you just let go, and let God.
